In order to help my favorite Canuckian better understand her American brothers and sisters, and our incessant need to reference great movies in our conversations with her, I've decided we need a "Must See" movie list. With that in mind, add your must-see additions below, and I'll put them on the list.

Off the top of my head, I'd say Joanna definitely needs to see:

    1. Full Metal Jacket
    2. Animal House
    3. Apocalypse Now
    -----------------------------
    4. The Blues Brothers
    5. Blade Runner
    6. Band of Brothers
    7. Planet of the Apes (I assume he means the original, not the worthless Marky Mark version)
    8. Stir Crazy
    9. Three Amigos!
    10. Grandma's Boy
    11. Super Troopers
    12. Beerfest (really?)
    13. Poolhall Junkies
    14. Fletch
    15. Robin Hood: Men in Tights
    16. Blazing Saddles
    17. Young Frankenstein
    18. Predator
    19. Gladiator
    20. The Godfather
    21. Escape from New York
    22. Any of the Rocky series, really (Savage edit: Rocky III is best, but I would watch 1-4, and then Rocky Balboa)
    23. Rambo
    24. Batman
    25. The Departed
    26. Unforgiven
    27. Fargo
    28. Road to Perdition
    29. American Psycho
    30. History of the World, part 1
    31. Dr. Strangelove
    32. Taxi Driver
    33. Casino
    34. The Godfather Part II
    35. The Shawshank Redemption
    36. Boondock Saints
    37. Dirty Harry
    38. Casablanca
    39. Scarface
    40. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
    41. Airplane!
    42. Raging Bull
    43. AMERICAN BEAUTY
    44. All 4 "Lethal Weapon" movies.
    45. Bourne Trilogy.
    46. Requiem For a Dream.
    47. Wag the Dog.
    48. Naked Gun.
    49. The Great Escape.
    50. Audition
    51. The tale of two sisters
    52. The eye (the original)
    53. Anatomy

I guess I should chime in with what I have actually seen. You can take these movies off the list: O Brother Where art Thou (my all-time favourite movie), clerks, dazed and confused, superbad, silence of the lambs, and the Big Lebowski. Spaceballs I think you should take off the list because I saw it once as a kid and it scared the shit out of me.

Also, I think you guys should recommend a lot more Jlo movies.

Also, what the fuck are beerfest and blazing saddles? I have never even heard of them.

Kubrick is American, but he lived in Britain, and besides it's a film set in Britain with British Actors, so I don't think it really counts on this list.

    I'll add:
    Blade Runner
    Band of Brothers
    Planet of the Apes

    AHNOLD (Terminator, Commando, etc)
the George Clooney, Alicia Silverstone, Guy who looks like a bitch Batman Movie

I know Blazing Saddles was already mentioned, and that is a must-see. Something I don't think anyone mentioned was Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. IMO, this should definitely be added to the list.
