I'm hoping Survival is actually fun, all details now basically say that you start a panic_forever event except it includes Specials and Bosses in the mix. Even if it isn't, it'll be nice to FINALLY have some new Versus maps. Here's also to hoping that the two maps aren't heavily survivor-favored as they feel right now in Campaign mode.
I think Dead Air will be fun in versus. I think that is the map I've seen the witch on the most, which seems to give a good heavy leaning back toward infected as long as the player infected are sowing enough chaos of their own.
I just want the SDK.

Yes, playtesters are really really bad at this game. I'm hoping this game mode has some extra "options" such as the ability to pick up and drop grenades in different locations for when you need them later. I'm also hoping the "skill" in it boils down to more than a specific corner/closet to camp for each map, because if it does I could definitely see myself enjoying this.
They're playing on the 360, so of course they're going to suck.
I was JUST commenting on how the game has finally lost the magic for me at this point. Two new campaigns is long overdue and should quench my thirst. If this Survival Mode (wait, the game wasn't about surviving before???) is any good, it looks like you may not need to bother with the L4D Extreme servers after all, Savage. Considering that Valve themselves (although they are probably talking about the Xbox 360) couldn't last more than 9 minutes, it would be the answer to this game taking so long when playing through an entire campaign. It could become more of a casual game that people only play for a little bit at a time but more frequently overall. More than likely, Xabu will be correct in guessing that it's just a matter of finding the best general spot to stay in like any other finale, though.
I am mapping out a bunch of maps that will range from very difficult to insanely difficult (I hope) for l4d. I'm hopping to turn them into a 'campaign,' although I probably wont spend much time making some sort of 'story' or 'theme' in them. I just want maps that don't boil down to hiding in closets/playing the same 8 maps OVER AND OVER AGAIN. As soon as I get an SDK I will pound them out. I'm going to start building basic rooms and floor plans next weekend in hammer, so I have a head start. Its probably all going to be in the 'Orange and grey' style, since texturing is time consuming.
God, I want that SDK so hard.
Don't hate on the dev textures, they have their own beauty.
And for floorplans and things: Doors with frame 56x112

There are more stored within the textures themselves, very useful.
I really hope they aren't planning to release all the bugfixes in 'one big update' again like last time - it was incredibly annoying having to wait for all of the exploits and glitches to be fixed.
Although Dead Air in Versus sounds just spectacular, as does this Survival mode.
